Composed at the Aldeburgh Festival 2009 for the Hesse Student group (week 1). I conducted the premiere performance at Jubilee Hall, Aldeburgh on 19 June 2009.
The piece was inspired by lyrics from the scene “Glitter of waves and glitter of sunlight” in Benjamin Britten‘s opera Peter Grimes (itself supposedly ‘influenced’ by Aldeburgh).
